Do I need an API key?

No. Add the FigureLabs MCP server and authorize it with your existing FigureLabs account.

Why do I authorize if I am already signed in?

Authorization lets the selected AI assistant use FigureLabs on your behalf.

Which AI assistants are supported?

The guided setup covers ChatGPT, Codex, and Claude. Other compatible MCP clients may also connect.

What happens after a figure is created?

In supported Codex and ChatGPT Work experiences, the FigureLabs canvas can open beside the conversation. Other clients show the result in chat and provide Open in FigureLabs for the full project.

How are credits charged?

MCP uses your existing FigureLabs plan and credit rules. Successful generation and editing use credits.

Can I continue editing a generated figure?

Yes. Describe the change in the same conversation, or use the FigureLabs canvas for hands-on editing.

The FigureLabs tools do not appear in my client.

Confirm that FigureLabs is enabled in your client tool or connector menu.

The image was generated, but no preview appears.

Use Open in FigureLabs to view the result in the full project.

Can I disconnect later?

Yes. Remove FigureLabs from your assistant connector settings or revoke access in FigureLabs.
